The Exchange Ballroom is an event venue located on the east bank of the Willamette River in Portland, Oregon. Our rentable space is located within the historic Eastside Exchange Building.
What Makes the Exchange Ballroom So Unique?
The Exchange Ballroom resides within The Eastside Exchange—a five-story building originally constructed in 1925 as a warehouse. The building has served several purposes throughout Portland’s history— housing during WWII, an ice cream cone factory, and even a Sears Distribution center.
Previously slated for demolition, the Eastside Exchange updates began in 2012 with Portland firm, Beam Development and Portland Development Commission at the helm. Completed in 2014, the $20 million building renovations included the newly minted Exchange Ballroom. Vibrant Table Catering & Events signed on to manage the Exchange Ballroom, offering catering and production services for weddings, corporate & non-profit events, meetings and social gatherings.
This LEED Silver-certified building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and, in addition to being a venue and meeting space, is also home to some of the most innovative companies in Portland.
Situated on the northern edge of the Central Eastside Industrial District (CEID), the building features easy freeway access and short walking distance to both Downtown and the Central Eastside.

Parking
The Eastside Exchange Building has a 125 spot parking lot that is available for guest parking from 5:30pm on Monday thru Friday and open all hours on the weekend.
Additional Parking in the surrounding area –Street Parking in the area varies from 1 – 2 hours. Additional parking can be found at the YARD parking garage directly south of the Eastside Exchange Building and at the Oregon Convention Center – 2 blocks North of the Eastside Exchange Building. Exchange Ballroom is not associated with these parking garages.
